New Jersey

New Jersey publishes a comprehensive list of tax assessor names, addresses and phone numbers by county at
http://www.state.nj.us/treasury/taxation/lpt/aaddr.htm

A group of databases searchable by township within counties is provided by the New Jersey Association of County Tax Boards here http://www.njactb.org/

New Jersey also publishes tables of valuation ratios (assessed to market values) for all municipalities at http://www.state.nj.us/treasury/taxation/lpt/lptvalue.shtml  To find the true value (estimated market value) of property in New Jersey, divide the assessed value of the home by the ratio.  For example:

If a home has an assessed value of $100,000 and if the number in the column "Ave. Ratio Assessed to True Value" is 90.23,
then divide $100,000 by .9023. The "true value" or market value is $110,828.

And general information, assessment issues and other local property tax information can be found at
http://www.state.nj.us/treasury/taxation/lpt/localtax.htm

Not an official government site, but also searchable are http://www.TaxRecords.com  and http://tax1.co.monmouth.nj.us:/

Phone number is 609-399-5070

Also not official, but assessors and sales records can be accessed here http://www.c-n.com/specialsections/datauniverse/propertyowners.html
